Common Questions:
Q: What is grit sand used for?
A: Grit Sand is ideal for laying block paving, slabs, patios, and paths. It’s also used in concrete and screed mixes where a more durable, coarse aggregate is needed. Unlike finer building sand, its angular grains offer improved bonding and load-bearing capability.
Q: Can I use this grit sand for paving or concrete work?
A: Yes – this is the go-to sand for laying paving or mixing concrete. It ensures a strong, stable base with good drainage, helping to reduce shifting and cracking over time.
Q: Why choose 20mm Golden Gravel?
A: The 20mm size offers excellent drainage and durability, making it perfect for high-traffic areas like driveways and footpaths. It’s large enough to stay in place and small enough to walk on comfortably.
Q: What makes this bag weatherproof?
A: Each 20kg bag is sealed in heavy-duty, weather-resistant packaging, so it can be stored outdoors on-site or at home without degrading, even in wet conditions. This makes it a practical choice for year-round use and bulk buying.
Q: How much area does a 20kg bag of grit sand cover?
A: A single 20kg bag typically covers around 0.25m² at a 40mm depth. For larger jobs, it’s easy to calculate the total quantity needed based on area and depth.
